The story begins when I’m eleven years old, in the basement,  holding a dinner knife as a microphone.

I’m broadcasting the hockey scores from the newspaper, pretending that it’s me up there in the gondola of the Montreal Forum with Danny Gallivan.

Then to high school in Chatham, New Brunswick where I videotaped basketball games, wrote for the yearbook (really cheesy poems) and filed sports reports for the local paper and CFAN Radio Sports.

To the University of New Brunswick, where I learned how to be a DJ and won the Newsman of the Year award at CHSR Student Radio.

Then a degree in broadcast journalism…gigs with CBC-TV and CTV National News and presto…40 years go by and I’m still addicted to words and stories.

I’ve contributed stories to CBC Radio Ideas, Windspeaker NewsMi’kmaq Maliseet Nations News, Halifax Chronicle Herald, Charlottetown Guardian, Antigonish Casket, Miramichi Leader and Summerside Journal Pioneer. My work has also appeared in Canadian Yachting, Police Blueline and other specialty trade publications or websites.

When it comes to multimedia, I’ve produced video projects in Canada, Bermuda, Egypt and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Previous audio projects were produced for the Canadian Red Cross, Coady International Institute, National Poetry Month and Ulnooweg Development Corporation.

If you are looking to hire a writer or producer for an upcoming project, call me at (902) 870-9662 or email me at I’ll give you a free, no-obligation quote for no-fuss budgeting.

You’ve got some great stories to tell.
